I got scammed and a great deal for you

Before I started my career as a fitness business coach, I read a book.  Well, I read more than one, but there was one in particular that was more directly related to what I do.

In this book, the author provided a lot of specific and applicable information.  And his biggest and most central message to his readers is this:  Create great content, and give your best content away for FREE.

Dominos pizza, stubborn gal and 23 gyms

“Life can change in an instant, and so can you.”

-Somebody, probably multiple people

I remember my last cigarette.  I was 21 years old.  I had been smoking for just over two years.  I was a pack a day kind of person.  Two packs when I drank alcohol.

should you buy that gym?

I was talking to a potential gym buyer the other day.  He is considering purchasing a gym that has been open for 8 years.  The other option that he is exploring is opening one himself from the ground up.

He paid me for an hour of my time and for my expert advice.

Weekly EFT

In one of my recent newsletters, I wrote about changing to weekly EFT, rather than monthly.  Many countries around the world collect money that way.

One gym owner emailed me, writing:

On leadership

Some people believe that leadership is something that can’t be learned.  You either have it or you don’t.  I don’t feel that way.  I think leadership is actually pretty simple.  You just have to want to work at it.

Now, I could bring in my four quadrants of personality, the colors, but I am not going to.  Not because it isn’t important.  It is for sure a difference maker, but I know that hundreds of folks who read this don’t know about my communication tool, and they aren’t going to drop everything they are doing to learn about it.

3 questions for Jason

Yeah, I am asking myself questions.  Sue me.  Wait, don’t.  Even though it would be frivolous, I don’t want to waste even one second dealing with a lawsuit.

Things I have been thinking about this afternoon:

Red Bull, if poured into a whiskey glass, looks almost identical to whiskey.

Do any Yoga Fit studios make money?  I predict that they don’t.  In fact, I know for certain that one of them that the franchisor owns, which has been open for over one year, loses money.

How to maximize content marketing

Content marketing.  You have heard the phrase.  You likely even know what it means and why it is important.

Free, free, free.  Everybody wants something for free.  Sort of.  Information, nowadays, is expected to be free.
Wondering about something?  Work the google on the internet machine and you will find the answer.

Sale first or customer first?

I was asked by a publication if I was interested in providing them with 3 reasons why a customer service, and not a sales first culture, is important.

I laughed out loud when I read that email.  Now, my chuckle has nothing do with the editor-in-chief of this magazine and her question.  I LOL’d because I teach 7 steps to GIGANTIC gym profits, and step one is “Create a sales first culture.”
