Firing a member

When I owned a gym, I had to let one member go.  It was over a sensitive issue and I didn’t enjoy it one bit.  I don’t regret it, however, as it needed to be done.

Fast forward a few years:  Yesterday, I was in a gym as a consultant hired by an owner with 5 centers.  They are not far from my home, and although 95% of my consulting involves a day and half or so onsite, and then telephone coaching, I made a decision to do a longer term project for this client.  The main reason for this decision is because of the challenge.   Five gyms, a few hundred members per gym, low staffed hours, not much leadership, and almost zero personal training.
